Source Emission Testing
AGAT Laboratories Source Testing provides sampling for primary pollutants of concern that includes particulate matter (TPM), sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), total hydrocarbons (THC), and volatile organic compounds (VOC).
Absorbent resin traps and specialized condensers can be integrated into iso-kinetic sample systems to monitor polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), dioxins and furans, polychlorinated biphenols (PCB), and mercury (HG). Cyclones and cascade impactors are coupled with TPM sample systems to conduct Particulate Size Distribution (PSD) analysis.
Sample collection is conducted using either AGAT Laboratories Mobile Laboratory for on-site data collection and analysis or absorption techniques using iso-kinetic or proportional rate methods. Other forms of sample collection can be used depending on the pollutant.
AGAT Laboratories Source Testing Services will provide quality services to assure regulatory compliance for Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA), Cylinder Gas Audits (CGA), and Stack Surveys. Advanced methods and techniques gives AGAT the ability to deliver performance and optimization testing on various sources and pollution control devices for a host of parameters.
Mobile Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS)
The Mobile Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) provides accurate real time air emissions data. This system is designed to be flexible in its application to meet client demands and regulatory requirements.
The Mobile CEMS extracts a continuous gas sample from the source through either a dilution or straight extractive system. A range of analyzers quantifies the conditioned stack gas and a powerful Data Acquisition System (DAS) then records this analysis. System alarms and multi component monitoring ensures accurate and reliable pollutant emission rates.
The Mobile CEMS is equipped to monitor sulphur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), nitrogen oxides (NOX), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), and total reduced sulphur compounds (TRS). The emission source can also be continuously monitored for temperature and flow rate.
The mobile CEMS is uniquely positioned to deliver full on-site CEMS capabilities to meet any requirements. The system can be utilized to ensure regulatory compliance, pollution control system performance evaluations, and system optimization. Compliance regulatory monitoring, such as RATA's or Manual Stack Survey's, are the most common application.
Source Testing Services
AGAT Laboratories source testing maintains source testing sample equipment designed to be accurate, reliable, and flexible.
Utilizing approved methods and techniques AGAT Laboratories can collect on-site source samples for pollutants of concern including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), dioxions and furans, polychlorinated biphenols (PCB), mercury (HG), total hydrocarbons (THC), and volatile organic compounds (VOC), and ammonia (NH3).
During the on-site sample collection the emission source gas is passed through filter media, sorbent traps, and various chemical reagents. The collected sample is stored and transported to one of AGAT's accredited laboratories for analysis. Laboratory quantification of the gas is performed via GC, HPLC, FTIR, and other analytical techniques as directed by the approved methods.
Source Testing Services are applicable to meet regulatory requirements such as manual stack surveys and can also be used to evaluate pollution control device efficiency.
