AGAT Laboratories Calgary Environmental Division is currently in search of a motivated, hard working individual(s) to fill the position of LABORATORY TECHNICIAN.
The successful candidate(s) must possess:
- B.Sc or equivalent in chemistry or related field;
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel;
- Good organizational skills, must be able to work well independently and within a team;
- Previous experience in an Environmental Laboratory is not required but is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of Environmental Guidelines is an asset
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of environmental soil and/or water samples for analysis;
- Salinity testing of soils samples;
- Sieve and texture analysis;
- Metal Digestions;
- Data entry;
- Verification of data to ensure quality and conformity;
- Participation in problem-solving related to instruments and work;
- Communication of all information, as needed regarding progress of activities, and results;
- Participation in the validation of analytical methods;
- Miscellaneous duties as required.
