AGAT Laboratories’ Western Canada Headquarters, in Calgary, AB, is currently in search of a dynamic individual to join our Energy Division Quality Assurance Team.

Candidates should possess a minimum requirement of a BSc in Chemical, Physical or Biological Sciences or a Chemical Technology Diploma or equivalent experience.

Position description:

  • Develops and carries out quality control programs, including statistical procedures and techniques which will meet desired quality standards at minimum cost.
  • Monitors quality assurance activities to determine conformance with policy and procedures and with sound practices; conducts system audits and makes appropriate recommendations for corrective actions and improvements as may be necessary.
  • Seeks and evaluates new ideas and current developments in the field of quality assurance and recommends means for their application whenever advisable. Modifies and maintains the Quality Control Procedures Manual.
  • Coordinates schedules for measurement systems functional checks, calibrations and other assessment procedures.
  • Develops system for control sample measurement; advises in the selection of suitable samples and/or prepares samples as delegated by management.
  • Evaluates data quality and maintains records and/or control charts, calibration records and other pertinent performance information.
  • Co-ordinates quality problem (nonconformance) investigations.
  • Advises and trains staff in matters of quality assurance.
  • Serves as organization's quality assurance representative for mandated QA programs.
  • Maintain Health and Safety Program.

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good organizational skills as well as ability to work independently
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings as well as coordinate projects
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Previous administrative experience an asset
