AGAT Laboratories Ltd. is an established full service laboratory network. AGAT is proud of its status as one of the most diversified laboratories in Canada. AGAT Laboratories’ Eastern Canada Headquarters, in Mississauga, Ontario, is currently in search of he following positions:
- Full time laboratory analysts / technicians
- Full time laboratory Chemists
These positions may require shift work (i.e. evenings and weekends) as needed.
The successful candidate(s) must possess:
ANALYST / TECHNICIAN
- B.Sc in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering;
- At least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience;
CHEMIST
- B.Sc or M.Sc. in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering;
- Minimum of 5 years hands on experience with environmental instrumentation: GC/MS, GC/ECD, GC/FID
Attributes for both positions will be:
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel. Knowledge of software used in chromatography would be an asset;
- Good organizational skills, must be able to work well independently and within a team;
- Knowledge of EPA methodologies, specifically those relating to SW-846 (Organic Analysis);
- Knowledge of Environmental Guidelines is an asset
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Perform activities related to preparation and analysis of soil and water samples;
- Verify data to ensure quality and conformity;
- Participate in problem-solving related to instruments and work;
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve work and propose changes that would increase efficiency;
- Communicate all information, as needed, regarding progress of activities, and results;
- Participate in the validation of analytical methods and the revision of method SOPs.
