The following analyses done by AGAT Laboratories include gross water determination (crackle), solids content (ASTM D 96) coolant (ASTM D2982) and if required, fuel dilution contamination (GC and FTIR - AGAT/Manufacturer methods).

Types of Packages Available

ICP Metal Scan (ASTM D 5185), 40° C and 100° C Viscosity (ASTM D 445)

General system Monitoring. This package can be used with any type of lubricant or lubricating system. This test package will give you a general idea how the system is operating and at the same time look for potentially catastrophic problems.

ICP Metal Scan (ASTM D 5185), 40° C and 100° C Viscosity (ASTM D 445), TAN (ASTM D 664), or TBN (ASTM D 2896)

Circulating equipment extended drain interval testing. This package can be used with all systems to assist in determining when the oil needs to be changed. It is typically used in systems that do not include combustion processes to operate, such as compressors, gearboxes, etc.

ICP Metal Scan (ASTM D 5185), 40° C and 100° C Viscosity (ASTM D 445), FTIR (AGAT/ Manufacturer method)

General combustion system monitoring. This package will enable you to determine when and why the system oil needs to be changed. It is designed for the combustion processes at work in natural gas engines, diesel engines, etc.

ICP Metal Scan (ASTM D 5185), 40° C and 100° C Viscosity (ASTM D 445), ISO Particle Count (ISO 4406), TAN (ASTM D 664)

Hydraulic and Turbine Monitoring. This package will help determine the remaining oil service life as well as the particulate content of the oil. This testing is reserved for turbines and hydraulics and may be used in conjunction with Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidization Test (RPVOT) to give a comprehensive look at the entire system.

ICP Metal Scan (ASTM D 5185), 40° C and 100° C Viscosity (ASTM D 445), TAN (ASTM D 664) or TBN (ASTM D 2896), FTIR (AGAT/Manufacturer Method)

Complete extended drain interval monitoring for all systems. This package is used on all systems to determine safe change intervals for extended oil change intervals and once again may be used with RPVOT testing on turbines.
