Ambient Air Quality Monitoring
AGAT Laboratories’ Air Quality Monitoring Division is ready to listen to your concerns and ideas and to work with you to produce solutions. Each assignment is preceded by a mutually agreed upon definition of requirements - from the specifications proposal to the timely delivery of a project service or report. We have the experience and vision to manage complex assignments and the diligence to provide routine services with appropriate detail. AGAT’s experience ranges from supplying and operations single turnkey units to complex regional airshed monitoring configurations.
AGAT maintains one of the largest fleets of air monitoring stations in North America including a substantial inventory of consumables, operating supplies, parts and spare equipment. Stations and state of the art instrumentation are available on a rent, lease or a purchase basis. Various services are also available for maintenance, calibrations or audits on customer owned equipment.
Routine Compliance Monitoring
AGAT routinely carries out ambient compliance monitoring programs to meet various requirements specified by differing regulatory jurisdictions for a range of industry sources:
- Oil and Gas Processing
- Power Generation
- Pulp and Paper Processing
- Wood Products
- Waste Incinerators
- Manufacturing Facilities
- Urban Areas
- Background Rural Locations
Continuous Air Quality Monitoring
AGAT provides fully equipped ambient air quality monitoring stations comprised of one or more of the following features:
- Single and Multi-Parameter Monitoring Configurations.
SO2, H2S, TRS, NOx, NO2, NH3, O3, THC, NMHC, CO, CO2,TSP, PM10, PM2.5
- PC Based Data Acquisition and Control Systems with enhanced remote access capabilities
- Custom Air-Conditioned and Heated Instrument Shelter Design.
- Supporting Meteorological Monitoring Systems.
- Monthly Calibration, Servicing, Data Validation and Reporting Services.
- webAIR – online enhanced reporting and notification software
Ambient monitoring stations are available for single station and multi-station air quality monitoring networks.
Meteorological Monitoring
AGAT provides complementary and stand-alone meteorological monitoring stations with the following features:
- Simple (e.g., single 10 m level wind speed and wind direction) and Multi-Parameter and Multi-Level (e.g. wind speed, wind direction, horizontal turbulence, vertical turbulence, temperature, temperature profile, barometric pressure, solar radiation, net radiation and precipitation) Configurations.
- PC Based or Remote Battery Data Acquisition and Data Logging Systems.
- Monthly Servicing, Data Validation and Reporting Services.
Integrative Monitoring
Integrated sampling programs based on drawing air through filters and absorbents can be supplied for multiple components including:
- High Volume Sampling for TSP and PM10 with Filters.
- High Volume Sampling for PCB and PAH with PUF.
- Collection of Whole Air Samples in Tedlar Bags and Polished Stainless Steel (e.g. SUMMA) Canisters for VOC’s.
- Formaldehyde and Phenol through Sep-Pak Cartridges and Gastec Tubes.
- Specialized Sampling as per EPA TO Methods.
- All analyses are undertaken using our in-house laboratories.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
Rigorous and comprehensive QA/QC programs are implemented for each study to ensure data collected are complete, representative, of known accuracy and are defensible. Our QA/QC program is comprised of the following components:
- Daily data monitoring conducted by staff for every parameter of the past 24 hours.
- Organized Staff Training Program Involving Internal Seminars, Field Training and Attendance at Industry Conferences.
- In-house Database of Sampling and Monitoring Procedures.
- Standard Operating and Documentation Procedures for Monitoring, Calibration and Sampling Systems.
- Automated Daily Zero and Single Point Span Calibration and Monthly Multi-Point Calibrations for Continuous Monitoring Stations.
- Enhanced Data Validation Service Available to Maximize Available Precision.
Regular system calibration and maintenance ensures increased instrumentation operation time and accurate data. AGAT AQM technicians are based across Western Canada throughout the AGAT’s various branches to ensure prompt and effective service. |
