AGAT Laboratories location in Dartmouth, NS, is currently in search of a dynamic individual to join our Environmental Division Organics Laboratory Team.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Degree in Chemistry or related science;
- 5+ years experience in organic chemistry, with extensive GC operation, method development, maintenance and troubleshooting experience;
- Very strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to be very organized and work well alone or as part of a team;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong computer skills;
- Can successfully deliver on multiple deadlines;
- Environmental lab experience preferred, with strong knowledge of EPA and other standard methodologies;
Responsibilities may include:
- Act as technical support for troubleshooting analytical instruments and test methods, performing validations and R&D activities, processing environmental samples;
- Maintain training and serve as a support to analysts when required;
- Enforce strict QA procedures;
- When necessary, supply input on required capital equipment expenditures, supply updates on industry and lab technical updates and be aware of any pertinent changes to test methods on a regional and national level.
